How the investment collections, rankings and return comparisons work.

The investment collections

Each section contains 100 investments. Existing creator references are supplemented by independent Income Lens candidates selected from issuer strategies and dividend-growth index holdings. These are research universes, not official 100-holding creator portfolios. Armchair retains its separate past-picks archive.

Armchair research · Income Factory research · Nanalyze research

Three philosophies, three default ranks

Armchair Insider balances recent and longer total return. It sorts first by the weaker matched-period standing, so a strong old record cannot erase weak recent performance.

Income Factory applies the same consistency rule to the Price/Dividend breakdown’s distribution contribution. It is a total-return-data proxy for dependable cash-flow contribution, not a distribution yield or a claim about future payments.

Nanalyze Dividend ranks all 100 research stocks using one independent, reproducible seven-factor estimate. The rules below replace the previous 20 manually entered estimates. The 97 matching companies use supplied ALL calculator inputs; ACN, VZ and CMI use separately sourced inputs. These are dated assessments, not current official Quantigence scores or return forecasts.

Return rankings compare every investment with eligible peers over exactly the same dates. Newer funds therefore use their available history without being placed beside another fund’s full-period result. Manual return, Price and Dividend sorts remain available in every collection.

Independent Q-score method · October 10, 2026

Each of seven factors contributes at most 5 points. Floors limit penalties, and size uses a logarithm so scale does not dominate the result. The weights, caps and geography bands are Dividend Fund modeling choices informed by the published seven-factor framework; they do not reconstruct the proprietary formula. Higher totals rank first. Round each factor to one decimal, sum those displayed values, and share ranks for ties. Alphabetical order breaks display ties only.

  • Years increasing dividends: Years / 10, capped at 5 points.
  • Market capitalization: 2 × log10(market cap in USD billions), limited to 0–5 points.
  • Dividend yield: 2 × (yield % − 1.5), limited to −2–5 points.
  • Payout ratio: (90 − payout %) / 15, limited to −2–5 points. Zero or negative payout receives −2 rather than a false coverage reward.
  • International sales: At most 25%: −1 point; above 25% through 50%: 2.5; above 50%: 5. A verified upper bound is usable only when entirely within the lowest band.
  • 5-year dividend growth: (5-year growth % − 5) / 3, limited to −2–5 points.
  • 10-year dividend growth: (10-year growth % − 4) / 2, limited to −2–5 points.

The 97 source matches come from Quantigence Q-Score Calculator - ALL.csv, imported September 23, 2026. The file provides no effective date, so those inputs are not labeled October market data. ACN, VZ and CMI were reviewed October 10 using October 9 market observations and issuer disclosures from different financial periods. Their 5/10-year growth uses CAGR of annualized declared regular dividend rates. Supplied growth definitions are retained for the other 97. This is a mixed-date screening comparison; differences in input timing and conventions can affect ranks.

Every stock page shows raw inputs, factor calculations, source references and limitations. Source share-class aliases for NVO, CNQ, IMO, TRP and BF-B map to the same issuer; foreign source yields may differ from US listings. Four foreign-listing market caps use separately dated, explicitly USD observations; the original values are retained in the assessment evidence. Kenvue’s supplied history includes its predecessor. REIT earnings payout is not AFFO coverage. Reported zero inputs are preserved with caveats. Verizon’s international share is bounded, not guessed: its domestic Consumer segment represented approximately 77% of FY2025 revenue, placing foreign revenue below the 25% scoring threshold.

The separate Quantigence model portfolios retain their supplied publisher scores and allocations. Refreshing market prices updates return charts, not these saved fundamental assessments.

Selection links

Existing research links preserve their creator attribution and dates. Independent additions link to issuer product information or index holdings and are labeled “Philosophy-fit candidate.” Each addition has a business or strategy rationale and a risk to investigate. Nanalyze additions use NOBL’s 25-year and SDY’s broader 20-year dividend-increase screens; membership does not establish a completed Q-score assessment. Published views and holdings can change.

Return calculation

100 × (adjusted close ÷ starting adjusted close − 1). Yahoo Finance adjusts for splits and distributions. These are market-price total-return estimates, with applicable fund expenses reflected in prices, before your taxes and trading costs. Provider adjustment and reinvestment conventions can differ from an issuer or Seeking Alpha.

Price and dividend breakdown

Price is 100 × (ending close ÷ starting close − 1), using Yahoo’s split-adjusted closing prices on the same dates as the total return. Dividend is total return minus price return. The two contributions are percentages of the initial investment and add to the total before rounding.

The Dividend component includes all distributions reflected in adjusted prices, including capital-gain distributions and return of capital where applicable, plus the effect of reinvesting them. It is not a cash-dividend yield, tax breakdown or direct measure of dividend growth.

A fair S&P 500 comparison

SPY’s adjusted closes serve as an investable S&P 500 total-return proxy, including dividends. Each pair uses exactly the same trading dates, with both lines beginning at 0%. SPY has a small expense ratio and tracking differences from the exact index.

Available history

The recent window is one year, or the available history if newer. The longer window is five years, or complete available history if shorter. Labels and dates show the actual periods. Funds under one year remain provisional because both ranking windows are the same. Missing or stale history remains unranked.

Data freshness

Daily observations come from Yahoo Finance. Charts omit the current session until 15 minutes after market close. The page checks for updates when saved data is over 20 hours old. If a request fails, saved series remain visible and stale results are excluded from current rankings.

Seeking Alpha links explicitly select both the investment ticker and SP500 in the total-return chart. The links request the five-year range; Seeking Alpha may require sign-in.
